Mayor: Gregg Brown

Mayor Gregg Brown was born on July 8th, 1964.

He and his wife Jimmie have been married since June 11th, 2005.

Gregg and Jimmie have two children, Christian and Lauryn, and six grandchildren.

They have been the owners and operators of Ninety Six Logistics since 2010, which is a thriving local business.

Gregg's campaign slogan when running for Mayor, "Change is Coming," has been proven true, as he has taken great strides in improving the lives of the residents of Ninety Six.

Ward 1: Michael Ray (Mickey) Goodman

Councilman Mickey Goodman is a lifelong resident of ward 1, residing on Lowell Street for 67 years.  He is a graduate of Ninety Six High School and the Greenwood College of Commerce.  He worked for Greenwood Mills in the supply department for forty years.

Mickey is an active member of Cambridge United Methodist Church where he serves as Sunday School Superintendent, church treasurer and teacher with the Wednesday night kids.  He is also an active member of the Ninety Six Mill Village association where he currently serves as treasurer.

For the town council he is chairperson of the Finance Committee and member of the Public Safety and Street and Sanitation committees. Mickey says,” I am very much interested in doing my part and working with others to make Ninety  Six a better place to live.  Hopefully, we can make Ninety Six attractive and the kind of town that people and businesses will find desirable.

Mr. Goodman is also a Past-President of the NMVNA (Ninety Six Mill Village Neighborhood Association) and married to his wife Mary.

Ward 2: Bridget Porter

Councilwoman Bridget Porter is a Ninety Six Native and a 1992 graduate of Ninety Six High School. She has served as Ward 2 representative for the past 8 years.  She is currently the Mayor Pro Tem and Chair of the Planning Committee.

Bridget is married to Chief Christopher Porter. She is a United States Army Veteran. She has been blessed to have the support and unconditional love of her family US Army Captain Brandon Baugh-Cheatham (Makayla), Brittany Jackson (Jaqez), Bri’ana Gilliam (Chase), Maria Gilliam (Jarrett) and David Gilliam Jr. Two bonus daughters Hannah Porter, and Jazmyn Boone and two grandsons Mason and Jaqez Jr.

Councilman Porter is determined to make Ward 2 better through working together and collaborating with residents to promote unity and transparency. Her goal is to help re-establish The Town of Ninety Six local chamber, stimulate economic growth, and bolster the business community.

Her favorite bible verse is (Philippians 4:13), “I Can Do All Things through Christ who Strengthens Me.” I have learned in whatever situation you are faced be content, humble, and willing to give your all. If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself. I pride myself in knowing that we are Ninety Six Strong.  “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” Phil Jackson.

Ward 6:  Karen Roller

Councilwoman Karen Karen, a native of Ninety Six, South Carolina, received her BS, Business/Management Marketing from Lander University. She has over 25 years’ experience in office management and customer service.  She serves as Councilwoman, Ward 6 for the Town of Ninety Six. Karen also serves on the personnel committee, praise team/choir and VBS leadership team at Ninety Six First Baptist Church.

She and her husband, Bryan, have four children and seven grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, planning trips and events and spending time with her family and friends.

Appearances before Council

Any person or organization desiring to appear before or make a presentation to the Town Council shall submit their request upon the application form (PDF) prior to 12:00 Noon on the second Wednesday preceding the regular meeting held the third Monday of each month.
